Myshia LeBoss
(formerly known as Myshia Moten), is an LA-Based dancer, choreographer and veteran teacher. As a student, she studied classical ballet with Stephan Wenta, Arturo Fernandez, Sophie Monet and Alain Eubert. She studied Modern dance under Charles Edmonson, Karen McDonald, Susan McClain, Jeff Slayton, Keith Johnson, and Winifred R. Harris. Her professional credits include dancing as a soloist and principal dancer with the companies of Winifred R Harris' Between Lines, Loretta Livingston and Dancers, Karen McDonald's New Age Dance Workshop, the Ballet Collective of Los Angeles, and Marshall Dance Company. Hailed as both "exquisite" and "commanding" by the Los Angeles Times, Mrs. LeBoss made quite an impression as a performer by allowing her passion for dance to emanate from her body, off the stage and directly into her audience's hearts. The last two years of her Company experience, she toured locally, dancing the role of Ms. Katherine Dunham. |
As a choreographer, her work has been equally praised and can be seen in the repertoire of Marshall Dance Company. Mrs. LeBoss founded LeBoss Company Dance in 2014 - a dance company based in Riverside County. Her company is dedicated to providing a place for students to move freely and develop their inner selves.
As a teacher, Mrs. LeBoss has touched the lives of over 3000 public school students by teaching them the art and love of dance. She taught Dunham technique for two consecutive years at the Debbie Allen Dance Institute Texas. Mrs. LeBoss holds a BFA in Dance from Long Beach State University, a Master's in Education from National University and is currently working on her Doctorate in Leadership and Innovation with her Dissertation focused on Leadership through Movement. She has developed dance programs and authored curriculum in LA Unified School District, Pasadena Unified School District and Perris Union High School District. |
