SCDF Mission Statement:
California, one of the most socio-economically and culturally diverse states, is alive with innovation and creativity. SCDF aspires to embody this thriving ecology. Focused on unveiling cutting-edge new dance works, preserving traditions, and sharing culture, SCDF showcases choreography and artistry to represent the state's unique and vibrant dance landscape.
Objective:
Our goal is to provide a platform for choreographers to present their work that inspires conversation among artists and audiences alike, cultivating a strong and supportive network within the dance community.
Join SCDF as we celebrate the wide variety of dance in Southern California! We are excited to announce our first annual all sector dance festival. *We intend to represent many of the dance education sectors: K-12, pre-professional and professional. The performance is Saturday February 24th at 6pm at Lakeside High School, Lake Elsinore, CA. SCDF is seeking works from a variety of genres to provide a platform for choreographers to present their work that inspires conversation among artists and audiences alike, to cultivate a strong and supportive network within the dance community.
For each work submitted, a link to a full run of the work (either rehearsal or performance) will be required. Ongoing technical rehearsals will take place Friday & Saturday February 23rd and 24th.
Submission details: If you would like to submit a work for consideration, please provide a link to the full run of the work (either rehearsal or performance) along with a $20 registration/submission fee (non-refundable). Multiple works may be submitted by different choreographers. Each work submitted, will need its own individual link and a $20 submission fee. Upon your work being accepted, there is a $30 participation fee for each work.
Length of Works:
1-3 minutes Solo (tech time 20 minutes)
1-5 minutes Duet/Small Group (tech time 20 minutes)
1-7 minutes Large Group (tech time 20 minutes)
Important Dates:

Acceptance Announcement by December 15th, 2023 (SCDF Notifies Applicants)
Confirmation of Acceptance by January 10th, 2024 ($30 Participation Fee Due for each work accepted)
Program/Lighting/Music Information Due By January 24th, 2024
Participants Informed of their Tech Schedule & Show Order by January 29th, 2024
